Free Tours Groningen shows you around in the great city of Groningen. We’ll guide you along some of the most interesting places. The duration of the tour is 1½ hours. You’ll hear stories about the past and the present, and you’ll get a local’s perspective on where to eat, drink and party.

Our tour is a great way to get to know Groningen quickly. All the guides thoroughly experienced the Groningen life and know the city like the back of their hands. While walking, you can feel the atmosphere of the city, meet interesting people and ask us everything you want to know.

After you have made your reservation we welcome you at the statue of St. George and the Dragon, next to the Martini Tower. If you are coming with a group consisting of more than 10 people, please send us an email. It is also possible to book private tours.

Fantastische ervaring: I went on a tour with Erik last weekend and can not recommend these tours enough. He was very knowledgeable and gave inside into the history of the city and current events. The tour is a must-do went visiting the city.

Fantastische ervaring: Henriette was zeer behulpzaam en heeft goed uitgelegd. We waren met een kleine groep, waardoor we alles konden behandelen. De tour duurde ongeveer 2 uur. Bijzonder prettig was dat Henriette uit Groningen kwam. Ze kon ons daardoor veel uitleggen en laten zien.

Fantastische ervaring: We hebben een super leuke privé tour gehad met Roy! Veel gezien en geleerd over Groningen en Roy heeft ontzettend zijn best gedaan voor ons! Erg leuk om een privé tour te boeken mocht je niet in de stad zijn tijdens de openbare Free Tour.

Fantastische ervaring: Ik heb de tour twee weken geleden gedaan en het was erg leuk! Ik kan het van harte aanbevelen. De gids legde alles in detail uit en vanuit een zeer lokale perspectief. Groningen is een pittoreske stad, maar een beetje geschiedenis helpt je om prachtige plekken te begrijpen en te beschrijven. De tips voor eten, koffie en bier hielpen ons ook enorm. Ik kan het alleen maar aanbevelen!

Fantastische ervaring: Amazing tour! Our guide was very friendly and came across as interested and passionate. Small and intimate tour, we were a group of Dutch friends and the tour was non-tourist-like. Mostly about the history of the city, but told in a playful story-like manner. Definitely recommend, it makes the city so much more interesting to visit!
